AKCG Crisis Communications Intern

AKCG - Public Relations Counselors is a no-fluff, market-driven, results-oriented, detail-minded public relations firm with expertise in crisis planning, crisis management, media training & media relations.

Purpose AKCG is seeking an enthusiastic, professional and forward-thinking student to join its crisis communications and reputation management team from August 30 to December 17, 2021. You will work directly to support AKCG’s crisis communications practice through numerous efforts, including: monitoring and analyzing media coverage of AKCG clients; providing input on communications strategy and messaging; monitoring industry trends; and supporting general account management efforts. Additionally, you may support other AKCG services and offerings, as needed.

Due to COVID-19, this internship will be conducted remotely.

Position Requirements

• A senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field

• Superior command of grammar and AP style

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Interest in (or knowledge of) crisis communications and/or reputation management

• Flexibility to help with other projects, as needed

• Access to reliable computer and internet

Duration Weekly schedule will accommodate school schedules. Applicants should have availability for 15 hours per week over a 16-week period (August 30 to December 17).

Compensation Internship employment with AKCG is temporary, beginning on or about August 30, 2021, and terminating on or about December 17, 2021. AKCG will compensate interns at an hourly rate of $12.50 per hour, or a total of $3,000, before taxes. Interns are not entitled to and will not receive employee benefits (such as vacation time, health insurance, etc.).

Dress Code Casual (while remote) and business casual (in office, if needed).
