Chamber of Commerce Communications intern

OBJECTIVE: Interns in the communications division of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce will learn how to apply classroom-learned skills in a real-life business setting working with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Communications Manager.

Deadline for application: December 22, 2021

• Winter/Spring 2021, may continue through Summer if desired

• Up to 4 hours a day, three days a week

• Downtown Scranton, PA

We are looking for:

• Strong writing skills

• Strong social media platform skills

• Solid time management and self-motivation

• Great verbal/writing/communication skills

Expected Projects

• Research, draft and deploy the Chamber’s weekly Eblasts, including content and layout.

• Assisting the Chamber with writing and content creation for Momentum, its monthly news magazine.

• Researching and applying best practices for the Chamber’s social media presence, including Facebook, LinkedIn and other sites.

• Develop a bank of social media postings for use in Hootsuite.

• Research and drafts cohesive press releases for the Chamber and its affiliates.

• Other duties and tasks as assigned, including ideas generated by the intern based on personal major course of study.
