This position is part of the NBA Emerging Media group which focuses on identifying, creating, distributing and publishing content to the NBA's social and digital platforms and its many domestic and international partners throughout the world. The ideal candidate is a Snapchat expert who is an active consumer and knows all the platform features, the latest trends and how to create content on the platform. They have a creative mind and have their finger on the pulse of the NBA, spending their free time immersing themselves in podcasts, message boards or consuming short and long form content about the league.

Major Responsibilities:

· Provide real-time game coverage by producing and publishing content for the NBA’s nightly and weekly Shows (this may include working days, nights, weekends and holidays)

· Collaborate with an NBA video editor to produce the best moments from games by creating engaging video and adding storytelling captions

· Write headlines and edit photos to create eye-catching Story Tiles to drive viewership

· Strategize, implement and track Snapchat’s feedback, guidelines and platform updates to best increase performance metrics, as well as analyze platform metrics to optimize each Show’s performance

· Actively content plan for the NBA’s weekly and nightly Snapchat Shows

· Assist with managing additional Snapchat platform features including Stickers, Filters, Lenses, Bitmojis, Cameos, My Story posts, Replies and Spotlight posts, for example

Required Skills/Knowledge:

· Knowledgeable and passionate about the NBA and its players, coaches and teams

· Knowledgeable and passionate about the off-court culture of the NBA, which includes player fashion, sneakers, music, hobbies and community engagement initiatives

· Great understanding of basketball stats and analytics and the rules of the game

· Experience with creating video content about or writing about basketball

· Experience working with the Snapchat platform

· Familiarity with the NBA’s Snapchat content

· Some understanding of metrics available on Snapchat

· Ability to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail-oriented approach

· Great organizational and project management skills

· Great communication skills and ability to provide clear, detailed feedback

· Willingness to work a flexible schedule as this position may include working days, nights, weekends and holidays based on the NBA calendar

· Must be a team player who can work collaboratively

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field preferred
