The Citizens’ Voice, a daily newspaper located in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., has an immediate opening for a full-time copy editor on the news desk.
Interested candidates should demonstrate strong news judgment, knowledge of and enthusiasm for the news, a digital-first mentality, an eye for detail, a knack for writing compelling and accurate headlines, expert knowledge of AP style, and a command of spelling and grammar. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and prior experience on a daily newspaper copy desk are preferred. Nights and weekends required.
We’re also looking for a copy editor who understands the basics and importance of the Web in breaking news. This includes an understanding of interactive technologies, and a knowledge of, or willingness to work with online and multimedia (including audio and video).
